Ogilvy Equestrian is a Canadian company specializing in products that are of the utmost quality and functionality for both horse and rider. I found this company while searching for a half pad for my OTTB to make him more comfortable under saddle. I researched many different options but decided on Ogilvy. Here’s why.
1. This company really seemed to understand the dynamics of the horse and how to best work with them, especially through their center of gravity. Ogilvy Equestrian saddle pads were developed for the purpose of releasing the pressure from the withers while stabilizing the saddle pad so that it sits perfectly at the base of the withers at a very precise center of gravity (the bottom of the V shape). This stops the pad from moving backwards and guarantees awesome longitudinal and lateral stability.The thickness at the withers and the angle towards the back of the saddle prevents friction and rubbing. It does just this. I have had no issues with it slipping underneath my saddle or any kind of rubbing. It stays in place and supports the horse’s back.
2. Possibly the biggest selling point for me was the memory foam. I loved the idea of it conforming and providing a custom fit for my horse as well as aiding in saddle fit. This makes our training rides more comfortable for him. Our Memory Foam pads fill the gaps between your horse and your saddle. With this pad, the saddle doesn’t slip and therefore provides an amazing and immediate stability. 3. The other big thing for me was the shock absorption. My guy tends to be a little stiff in the back at times so I was really looking for 
something that could aid him in our training sessions and overall make him more comfortable. Ogilvy says it best. The 3-D mesh incorporated in FF technology provides additional shock absorption. The Memory Foam coupled with the Friction Free technology helps to free up the shoulder and back muscles and allows for more freedom of movement. As many of our riders have told us, “My horse has never moved so freely!” This I can absolutely attest to! When I tried him the first time in this half pad, he most definitely had more freedom of movement. I was actually really surprised. We have really been able to work well, and I know part of that is because he is more comfortable in his Ogilvy half pad. You must have the right equipment to be successful in any equestrian sport. Ogilvy helps you achieve that.
The other thing I absolutely adore about this company is the custom options. For those of you who have followed for a while, you know I love to customize things just for me and Taylor. With Ogilvy, you have so many options! I decided on his first half pad to be very practical and classic. I chose the black half pad with white trim. It looks beautiful under his black dressage saddle and goes perfectly with any saddle pad. I have already begun planning his next half pad or dressage pad, and it’s going to be fun! I will definitely be adding in some bright colors to really make it pop. Love it! It’s also machine washable! You can very easily remove the memory foam pads and wash the cover. It was washes and wears great! Ogilvy has you covered whether you ride dressage, hunter, jumper, or eventing.
