A Few (More) of My Favorite Things

I hope everyone enjoyed the Velvet Rider’s Twelve Days of Christmas!  It was tons of fun and there were some awesome giveaways and deals!

I decided to compile a list of “A Few (More) of My Favorite Things” to help you with your last minute holiday shopping!  I started gift shopping back in October, and somehow I still managed to wait until the last minute for some things.  Eek!  Everything on this list I wouldn’t mind finding under my own tree (hint hint!) so you should feel at ease picking these up for those equestrians in your life!  So here we go!

The most fun thing is that we have a giveaway for this list too!

Their newest addition is the black on white dressage saddle pad.  Typically, the saddle pads are done with a gold logo but this time black has been introduced!  I absolutely LOVE it!  I will be one of the first ones in line to pick this up.  It’s so classic and chic.  Nothing screams dressage like white and black, and I can’t wait to show off Taylor in this saddle pad!

2.  Moxie Designs

So Tiffany at Moxie Designs is one of the most amazing artists I have ever encountered.  And lucky for us, she is on our side creating the most beautiful equestrian products.  Each item is hand-painted, and you can order custom brushes, ornaments, stall signs, grooming boxes, and more!  I decided to order an ornament for my partner in crime at the barn, and well, you know I had to have one too!  Tiffany was so easy to work with and the ornaments turned out better than I ever could have imagined.  She captured both horses perfectly!  I can’t wait to give this ornament as a gift!  I know she will love it as much as I love mine!  Custom brushes are next up on my list from Moxie Designs!  Get your gift certificates now so that lucky person can dream up something fabulous for Moxie Designs to create just for them!

7.  Horse Books

I’m an avid reader and especially so for horse books!  And I read everything…training, info, adult fiction, young adult fiction, horse biographies…I love it all.  So here is a list of horse books that I particular enjoyed (some are even a series!) so gift one, several, or all!  Most are available in print and as ebooks.  This is the perfect time of year to curl up by a fire with a cup of coffee and a good book!  Enjoy!

Available at Amazon or Barnes & Noble.

Books

The Dressage Chronicles Books 1 &2 by Karen McGoldrick (of Judge My Ride fame; these books are fabulous!)

The Head and Not the Heart by Natalie Keller Reinert (part of a series by a friend of mine; great novelist)

Greatness & Goodness: Barbaro and His Legacy by Alex Brown (beautiful book depicting the life of racehorse Barbaro)

Dressage for the Not-So-Perfect Horse by Janet Foy (great book for those of us who don’t ride Totilas)

Beyond the Homestretch: What I’ve Learned from Saving Racehorses by Lynn Reardon (this book helped inspire me to adopt an OTTB)

Horseplay by Judy Renee Singer (just a fun horsey, chick lit read; I was bursting out into laughter at parts)

Centered Riding by Sally Swift (great informative book on correct, classical riding)

Thoroughbred: A Horse Called Wonder by Joanna Campbell (a long standing series for children/young adults; I loved this series growing up and all of Joanna Campbell’s books)

The A Circuit by Georgina Bloomberg (this is a guilty pleasure for me but I really enjoy this young adult series)

Kick On by Kelly Jennings (a fun horse story that is soon to become a series set in exotic Panama)

The Yonahlossee Riding Camp for Girls by Anton Disclafani (I was a little unsure of this one based on the title but don’t let it fool you…it’s a must read)

8.  Bling for the Ring

Bling for the Ring will give you that added sparkle while in the ring!  Rhinestone braiding bands are like the best thing since sliced bread to me.  I am eagerly awaiting their approval to be used in recognized equestrian events because we all know it’s coming!  You can get them in clear, colored, or combination.  These would make excellent stocking stuffers and sure to brighten that special someone’s holiday!  You can read my review of these bands here.

9.  Moon Raven Designs Hoof Ring & Cuff

I love unique equestrian items so I was thrilled when I found Moon Raven Designs.  They offer some of the coolest equestrian jewelry items around.  I really adore these Horse Hoof pieces.  I have both and they are perfect to layer with!  You can wear them alone or stack them.  I love mixing the cuff with my watch, and I normally wear the ring alone but have layered it with a bling ring for added fun!  Available in silver or bronze, get the set or one.  These are sure to please!

10.  Ashley’s Equestrian Jewelry

Pretty much anything from this jewelry store I would love to see under my tree.  An entire fine jewelry line devoted to equestrians?  This is a no brainer.  If you are looking for a gift, you really can’t go wrong here with any choices. Every piece is that beautiful!

There are some lovely items on this site, but how do I enter the cooler drawing? Didn’t see an option.
